Including the provinces of: NEUQUEN / RIO NEGRO / CHUBUT
This superbly beautiful region encompasses a passage made up by the provinces of Neuquen, Rio Negro and Chubut , in the Northwest of the Argentine Patagonia and the North of the Chilean Patagonia, more precisely the IX and X regions of this country. Its scenery mainly displays imposing rocky mountains, beautiful lakes surrounded by dense woods, thus creating a fairytale world. The route of the Siete Lagos or Seven Lakes , its most distinctive circuit, follows a winding path from San Martin de los Andes to Bariloche, among astonishing landscapes.
Another major tourist attraction is its ski centers, among the best in the world, welcoming visitors coming every year from the most remote corners of the world in search of their excellent infrastructure and first-class service: Chapelco, Caviahue, Catedral, Bayo, La Hoya to name just a few. The geography of the place allows the practice of sports in every season, always surrounded by wonderful scenery: horse riding, fly-fishing, mountain bike riding, trekking, climbing and rafting. Other options include photographic safaris and high hunting in enclosed areas. The cuisine of the place is based on lamb and salmonidae, as well as making good use of fresh and processed red fruits. |

PROVINCE OF NEUQUEN
The beauty of its landscape keeps changing as the visitor travels through the region: wild and arid in the north, fertile valleys between the Limay River and Neuquen River, majestic mountains in the south surrounded by lakes and woods. Its tourist attractions are virtually infinite. Besides its amazing sceneries we should mention its huge paleontological sites, where some of the world's most astonishing discoveries were made. There are ranches located all over the province, where visitors will be able to get in contact with different aspects of the cattle and farming industry as well as forest exploitation, thus taking part in the increasingly popular trend of Agro-tourism. This province also offers the best camping and mountain climbing sites, as well as the ideal context for adventure tourism and every other activity requiring contact with Nature. For those health-conscious visitors looking for relaxation, there are numerous thermal waters and a great infrastructure. This is also one of the most important places in the world for the practice of fly-fishing, in unbelievably beautiful rivers. Summing up, a province that offers the best possible attractions and services to its visitors.
PROVINCE OF RIO NEGRO
Located in the Patagonian plateau, its climate is arid, cold and windy, with the exception of its valleys, where the farming industry experienced an exceptional development, especially in the Alto Valle or High Valley, the most developed and densely populated area of the Patagonia. The abundance of pears and apples attracted a number of processing industries devoted to the production of concentrated fruit and cider. Its economic wealth also includes oil exploitation, sheep farming and wine-making. In both spring and summer, the mountain range displays the green of its woods and the colorful beauty of its flowers, whereas in winter, snow abounds and many sports are practiced. The East area possesses countless huge seaside resorts which favour beach life as well as a close contact with its rich sea fauna. The famous and superbly beautiful Nahuel Huapi National Park, on the border of Rio Negro and Neuquen, brings together many lakes and rivers, thus becoming a haven for sport fishing lovers and water sports fans. Its cuisine is equally varied and delicious, this being the land of lambs and other animals fed with the natural grass of the region, as well as because of its many species of fish and its wines, typical of cold areas. All these elements enable the preparation of typically Centro European delicacies.
PROVINCE OF CHUBUT
One of the regions with the lowest density of population in the country, Chubut displays three clearly defined natural areas: the Andean region, humid and rainy, with huge lakes and green prairies; the central area, dry and windy; the coastline, displaying urbanization, devoted to fishing and seaside activities.
Having a remarkable amount of Welsh immigrants, this community celebrates a number of colorful festivities each year. Traces of this culture can be appreciated in all kinds of everyday aspects of life in the area, ranging from social and religious practices to cuisine. Its economy is based on oil production, petrochemical industries, sheep farming, fishing and the tourist industry. Its cuisine shares the main features of Patagonian cuisine: lacustrine fishing, high hunting animals, its famous lamb and its red fruits, perfect for preservation and comfiture.
