PROVINCE OF MENDOZA
This prosperous province has over 1,200 wineries which produce over 10 million hectoliters of wine per year, turning it into the most important wine production center of South America. Many of these establishments can be visited by tourists, who come from the furthest corners of the planet in order to enjoy the experience.
This province, one of the most outstanding tourist centers in the country, is considered the capital city of the Cuyo region. Its snow-capped peaks are ideal sites for skiing. Here the Fiesta de la Vendimia or Grape Harvest Festival is celebrated by means of a magnificent allegoric show devoted to the winemaking activity, followed by a hectic program of cultural and folkloric festivities.
Classical music is also part of the celebrations, with concerts taking place in many of the wineries and vineyards of the region. Its first-class cuisine makes use of refined oils, sophisticated vegetables, many jams and sweet products, all of which are exported to the main consuming centers in the world. |
