PROVINCE OF FORMOSA
This remarkably flat area has tropical climate, leafy forests, wide clearings and mounts covered with a number of local trees including quebracho, urunday, palo santo, lapacho, palm trees and other species.
Its rich fauna includes tapíes, coatíes, ferrets, red foxes, and some species in danger of extinction, such as yaguaretés, nutrias and caimans. With such scenery, it is not surprising for thousands of local and foreign travelers to choose this province for the practice of adventure tourism and its many possibilities, as well as for the practice of sport fishing: you will find surubi, pacu, corvine and the most important trophy of them all, the dorado. Every year, fishing fans from Europe and even from Japan are astonished by the size of the fish they manage to catch in these rivers. Some of the visitors, following the ancient traditions of the Toba Indians, dare to fish in canoes, and even in fragile "piraguas" (traditional fishing boat). |
