PARQUE NACIONAL TORRES DEL PAINE

Declared Biosphere Reserve by the UNESCO in 1978, this is, without a shadow of a doubt, one of the most spectacular national parks in the country. It is internationally famous as one of the most beautiful and less polluted places in the planet. Its unusual relief, wild geography, its lakes, flora and fauna, turn it into the ideal place for the practice of eco-tourism and adventure sports. Its breathtaking landscapes are the product of earth movements taking place over 12 million years ago, producing astounding summits, such as Paine Grande Mountain, Los Cuernos del Paine and Torres del Paine, where visitors can still find some glaciers. The permanent control offered by park keepers and its strict norms provide safety and guarantee a pleasant visit. Its trans-Andean climate enables all-year-round visits and the wide range of activities to be practiced here is amazing. For example, trekking is popular among visitors, who should bring their mountain gear and clothing. Its many circuits include safe shelters with proper facilities to rest or even spend the night. Daredevils may choose among the many circuits of climbing, river kayaking, sea kayaking, rafting and trekking. Vegetation is varied: orchids, mata barrosa, calafate and in its woods there is lenga and coigue. Some of the animals that can be seen include guanacos, pumas, ñandues, silver foxes and condors.
